A victory for science and compassion

A ground-breaking decision by BC's Environmental Appeal Board this summer means a victory for the BC SPCA and the Wildlife Rehabilitators’ Network of BC, while calling into question government decision-making practices for wildlife policies. Wild ARC decisively won the administrative appeal, confirming the facility should to continue to provide compassionate and biologically-responsible care to all of its patients.

 Determined Canada Goose survives
a double shot of danger

After nearly a month of dedicated rescue efforts, a goose with an arrow through its chest was brought to Wild ARC for treatment. X-rays revealed that this tenacious goose had also been shot by a pellet gun! Fortunately Wild ARC’s rehabilitators were able to remove the arrow and help this goose recover, but not every conflict case has such a happy ending.
