Mink industry proposes animal welfare rollbacks

Wild animals can be farmed for their fur under the Animal Health Act and the Fur Farm Regulation. The same day that the first COVID-19 outbreak on a B.C. mink farm was reported in December 2020, proposed changes to the Code of Practice for Mink were released that would roll back welfare improvements. Speak up by February 4 to make comments and help end mink farming.

Exotic birds need your help!

Last month, a shipment of more than 50 parrots and toucans passed through Vancouver International Airport, destined for Japan. Sadly, one toucan was found dead and several others were without food. These poor birds were simply the latest victims of a massive global trade in wildlife. Help us call on the federal government to protect birds and other exotic animals like them.
