New farm animal recovery and adoption barn opens
Exciting news - the BC SPCA has opened a new facility in Nanaimo to care for abused and neglected farm animals. The Seasted Stables, which will serve all of Vancouver Island, is named in recognition of the Seasted Foundation, which provided generous funding for the project. This is the third BC SPCA building designated specifically for the care of farm animals.

Choosing Certified Organic food was already a good choice for protecting farm animal welfare. But after the most recent update to the Canadian Organic Standard (COS), changes were made that will further improve the lives of farm animals on organic farms. The new COS has been released, and we are excited to share these improvements with you.
