Walk to fight animal cruelty
Join our Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause event and save animals like Sky. She was seized from a BC SPCA investigation and is now in our care after living her life tethered outdoors without access to adequate food, water, or shelter. Funds that you raise will support life-saving investigations like Sky’s.
Antibiotic uses in farming: Is there cause for concern?
Antibiotics are used on farms to help sick animals fight off bacterial infections, ensuring they get well before spreading the infection to healthy animals. Good health is an important factor in animal welfare. Some farmers administer antibiotics to healthy animals as a means to improve growth. This "nontherapeutic" use of antibiotics has been a cause of concern in recent years.
