Provincial pet registry a first for B.C.
A new provincial pet identification
registry will help animals with permanent ID, like a microchip, find their way
home should they become lost. The centralized database makes it easy for BC
SPCA shelters and veterinarians throughout B.C. track down missing animals, a
task that used to mean checking several different registries. Pet guardians can
now also update their contact information online.
Help our feathered friends
You can catch up on your kindness and help
wild birds at the same time, with two simple acts of kindness featured in the
BC SPCA’s Million Acts of Kindness movement. By spreading the word about what
to do if you find a baby bird, or purchasing special window decals that help
prevent wild birds from flying into the glass, every little act counts.
Be a hero for animals
On April 23, the BC SPCA celebrated Animal
Abuse Prevention Day with the provincial government, whose recent $5-million
grant will help build new BC SPCA animal shelters in several communities around
the province. Just like the B.C. Government, you can be a hero for animals
every day through simple acts of kindness like reporting animal cruelty when you see it.

them!
Adopt me!
Connor, was one of 50 rabbits seized by the BC SPCA animal cruelty investigations team in April. Like all New Zealand rabbits, Connor is a large bunny and he is in good health despite his sad background. Connor is quite content to be held, pet and admired. He is an absolute cuddle bunny.
Read my happy "tail"
Beau was taken into the care of the BC SPCA along with many other dogs who were seized as part of a puppy mill investigation. The dogs had been kept in a barn with little or no contact with people. Fortunately the right adopter came along and Beau hasn't looked back.
