Online pet sales
targeted by popular websites
That cute puppy in the window may be adorable
– but where did the pet store get him? As more people become aware of the link
between pet stores, online pet sales and puppy mills, more websites are making
moves to ban the sale of animals online, as many come from puppy or kitten
mills, where shocking acts of cruelty and neglect are routinely inflicted on
breeding animals.
Be bear-aware
As urban centres expand into regions once occupied
by only wildlife, human-bear encounters are becoming a normal occurrence, but
the key is to reduce potential conflict with our wild neighbours.
Summer safety
Pets often rely on their humans
to make choices for them, and during the summer, it’s important for pet
guardians to think about their animal companions’ needs. Find out more about summer
pet safety.
