Speak up for farm animals

October is Farm Animal Month, and we need you to take action for farm animals. 700 million animals are raised for food in Canada each year; 95 per cent of these animals are chickens and turkeys. Help us make positive change: raise your voice to raise Canada’s minimum requirements for the care of farm animals, and support humane alternatives with your food choices.

Facilities plan helps BC SPCA help animals

Thanks to $5 million from the provincial government , the BC SPCA’s Facilities Development and Services Plan is moving forward, with new facilities underway or completed in Surrey, Kelowna and Nanaimo. The plan, an eight-year strategy totally $50.4 million to replace or renovate aging BC SPCA infrastructure, will help the BC SPCA shelter and care for B.C.’s most vulnerable animals.
