June 2010

As the school year winds down it is time to reflect on the amazing things the students have accomplished. If your school/class or even a particular student has done a project, fundraiser, speech etc. to promote good animal welfare please let us know.

School Club

Visit our High Paws page on our website for highlights of all the great things kids are doing to help animals in their community and around the world. Please use the project record sheet when submitting this information. If you have pictures of the students and their projects, even better but please ensure that we have written permission from the parents to use this on our website.

For every project submitted a thank you package will be sent to the school/classroom.

Success Stories

Here are some example of what kids are doing in some schools to raise funds and awareness about animal welfare and the BC SPCA:

Dr. R.E. McKechnie Elementary

Students at this Vancouver elementary school raised $5,000 in a dog walk fundraiser held on a Saturday afternoon.

Thunderbird Elementary

Their BC SPCA animal awareness and fundraising week kicked off with a "Best In Show" event. Staff members and special guests were invited to take part with their pets. The panel of student judges voted and awarded wonderful hand created certificates. They went on to fundraise over $300 at a bake sale.

St. Bernadette's Hearts for Animals Club

During their Animal Appreciation Day, they raised awareness about animal issues and collected $378 for the BC SPCA Biscuit Fund for Medical Care

Thanks for all you do to promote animal welfare in your classroom.
