Dog training shouldn’t hurt. Learn the truth about shock collars and take our pledge.

Many well-meaning dog owners turn to punishment-based training tools, such as shock collars (also known as electronic or e-collars), out of a genuine desire to keep their pet safe. But they may not be aware of the physical and psychological dangers shock collars pose for their pets.

Research carried out across North America and Europe has shown that dogs trained with shock collars exhibited increased fear, stress and aggression and did not learn better than with those trained using reward-based methods. Shock collars can also cause painful neck burns.

Reward-based training methods are shown to be more effective for addressing aggression and ensuring a reliable recall. Learn about the dangers of shock collars and take our pledge never to use one.
