AnimalKind accredited companies | Find a humane company

Hi friend,

In April, you helped us with your feedback to develop evidence-based standards for pet care services like boarding, grooming, dog daycare and walking.

Today, we are happy to share that the standards (PDF) are completed, along with resources to help you choose the best service for your pet

When it comes to pet care services, the choices are endless!   But while many may offer you "The best (grooming, boarding, dog daycares or dog walking) in town," the reality is pet care services are unregulated, which means:

  1. Anyone can offer you pet care services without education or experience.

  2. You may be leaving your pet in the hands of someone using handling methods that could hurt your cat or dog.

That's why the standards were created! To help you choose a dog daycare, dog walking, pet boarding or grooming service.

So how do you know who to trust?

The best way to know if your company of choice uses humane handling and reward-based care is by asking the right questions

Knowing what to ask is critical to ensuring your pet will be treated with the care they deserve.

Thanks for helping us shape a better world for the animals you and we love.

Best,

Marcela Vargas
