Meet the 2012 Winning Films
The Paws
and Claws Film Festival wound up with its annual Dinner Auction on Saturday
November 3, 2012. It was another
splendid event, made even more special by the filmmakers who attended to accept
their awards in person.
Here are
the results of both awards in all three time categories. Be sure to check out the film synopses for
more information about the films and the talented people behind them – and

While many films submitted to our 2012 competition highlighted
animal welfare or conservation issues, one film in particular resonated with
the judges with respect to its educational value. The film is Thrill of the Catch, directed by and filmed by Jarrett Corke,
Brendal Davis and Aurelie Godin.
Presented in an unbiased manner, it provides a thought-provoking look at
the shark derbies held in Nova Scotia.
These are annual events that may be unknown to most people. Jarrett, Brendal and Aurelie received a
special award certificate for this insightful film. Please be sure to watch the film!
