About the BC SPCA

Speaking for Animals Since 1895

Since the enactment of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in 1895, the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) has been instrumental in improving the welfare of animals in British Columbia. Today the Society’s influence is felt beyond BC’s borders as it has grown to become the leading animal welfare organization in North America.  As a not-for-profit organization that does not currently receive provincial or federal government funding, we are reliant on your support.
