The BC SPCA salutes its 4,000 volunteers across the province during National Volunteer Week April 18 to 24. Find out what our volunteers do and how you can become a volunteer, too.

A B.C. Supreme Court judge has ruled in favour of the BC SPCA in a dispute over the seizure of 28 thin and emaciated horses and 39 terrier mix dogs and puppies last year. The BC SPCA seized the animals following an animal cruelty investigation on a property near Vernon. As a result of ruling, the animals are now available for adoption. Visit our news page for more details on the case and the animals looking for loving homes.

Donor of the Month: Jarome Iginla
The animals have a champion of their own. For more than 15 years, Calgary Flames forward Jarome Iginla and his wife, Kara, have shown great generosity and compassion toward the animals of B.C. Iginla is not only a Canadian hockey hero, but a hero to the tens of thousands of animals saved every year at the BC SPCA thanks to support like his.
