He ended up in the care of the BC SPCA on May 18, 2011 when his former owners were moving to an apartment and could not take this friendly guy with them.
Cane & Cherry were originally brought into the BC SPCA Quesnel & District Branch with some of their other siblings as they were from an unexpected litter. They spent a couple of weeks in Quesnel with hopes a family would come in to adopt them, but no one did.

The BC SPCA has seized 90 Berkshire pigs and 16 ducks from a property near Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island after their owner refused to comply with SPCA orders to improve the welfare of the animals.
The animals were living in substandard and dangerous conditions and were suffering from untreated parasites and medical problems.
The BC SPCA will be recommending charges of animal cruelty in the case.

Bosley’s recently donated $11,087.39 to the BC SPCA. The funds were raised during a pet appreciation weekend to collect donations for local BC SPCA branches. Twenty-five Bosley’s locations took part in the campaign, encouraging their customers to join them in supporting animals in need.

Warning! Don’t let cool cats turn into frosty felines.
Consider how winter nights affect an outdoor cat. A cat’s fur “puffs out” in cold weather to create an insulating warm air layer but ears, toes and tails are susceptible to frostbite as they are only lightly protected by fur. Early signs of frostbite include shivering and pale to almost white skin on ears. As the cat warms up, these tissues turn bright red, then pale and finally black as the tissues die.
