I like to think that Bo & Diablo were destined to be our kitties. When I moved to Thompson, MB, in 2005, I knew I would need some furry friends to keep me company. I contacted the local humane society and although there were no kittens up for adoption, there were 2 older cats, brothers in fact, that were in need of a new home. Although I had really wanted to get a kitten, I decided to go and meet these brothers. When I was given the address, I was surprised to learn that they were living in an apartment just down the hall from mine! I went over to meet the boys, and although I never got to see Diablo - he was extremely shy! - Bo was very affectionate and it was love at first purr! I decided to adopt both cats - I couldn't imagine separating brothers! - and just hoped that Diablo would warm up to me. And warm up he did! And then when Allan came into my life, the boys were ecstatic - now they had TWO humans to shower them with affection!

In 2007, we decided to move to Kamloops, BC. What surprised me is that many people asked us what we planned to do with the cats! It shocked me that people thought we would give up our boys just because we were moving! Of course they were coming with us!! So one weekend in August, we made the long journey west, and although the boys complained the whole way (and I mean the WHOLE WAY!!), we arrived safe and sound at our new home. At first the boys were a little disoriented as they had spent their entire lives in small apartments, but they soon adapted and found immense joy in racing up and down the stairs exploring their new kingdom. And life in Kamloops has been great! Bo & Diablo definitely enjoy the many sunny days in the Loops, always finding the perfect beam of sunshine to curl up in!

Bo (aka Bobo Bear) is definitely the more outgoing cat! He loves to be the center of attention and if he hears purring other than his own he comes running to get his share of the action. Although both of the boys are "foodies", Bo is the more adventurous eater - he will try anything once and has a particular fondness for Dad's Chinese food! Bo loves to curl up in bed under the blankets and is always game for a belly rub.

Diablo (aka Pooh Bear or Grumpy Bear) is more cautious with his affections but once you win him over, he is just a cuddly teddy bear with a robust purr! He is our fearless jumper - no cupboard or shelf is too high for him! Diablo loves to rub his face on Daddy's knuckles. He also loves to wake Mommy up by tapping her nose with his paw and if that doesn't work, to "comb" her hair with his claws! A few years ago, Diablo had a benign tumor in his left ear that had to be removed, so he now has a "special" ear. He is a little self-conscious about it and if you stare too long at his ear, he will turn it away. But he is still just as handsome to us!

Together they are double the fun! As brothers, they can be the best of friends one moment, and then a tumbleweed of fur the next as they wrestle to determine who the alpha male is that day. Every day is full of new adventures, and we enjoy the show!

Bo & Diablo have brought so much joy and happiness into our lives, and hopefully by helping to raise funds for the BC SPCA, they can help other furry friends find their forever homes. So please vote for Bo & Diablo and help create some more happy endings!
