The Abbotsford shelter is feeling the squeeze after four kitties came in after each was hit by a car.
Cedar, orange tabby, came in to our care by a good Samaritan who found him after he was hit by a car. Sadly, Cedar suffered from some severe injuries from the accident and has a broken femoral head which needs to be removed. He also has an open wound by his tail caused by the impact from when he was hit. Without surgery, Cedar would not be able to live a pain free life. To diagnose this injury, he required xrays, pain medication, and cage rest. He is currently being boarded at a vet clinic. This surgery has an excellent outcome and Cedar will be able to live typical cat life!
Cedar is a very handsome, young, guy who is loving and affectionate. He enjoys snuggling up with a person, being pet, and doted on. He deserves another chance!
Hattrick, a beautiful tuxedo cat, was brought in to our care by someone who found him injured in their front yard after being hit by a car. He came to our branch with a severe injury to his front leg. He was taken to the vet and confirmed with xrays that he had a broken leg.
At only 8 months old, Hattrick deserves a chance at life with 4 legs - but if he doesn't heal well, he might just suit his name. While we wait to see if an amputation is needed, Hattrick is being boarded at a vet clinic with pain medication and a cast on strict cage rest.
Once we know whether he gets to keep his leg or not, he will need to be neutered and will then be ready to steal your heart! Hattrick is an energetic boy (this cage rest is really bumming him out), who enjoys being around people. He is chatty at times and snuggly when he is tired!
Bendito, a little black and white kitten, at only 3.5 months old, (you guessed it) was hit by a car. Thankfully, he was found by a good Samaritan before he perished. After being rushed to the vet clinic, Bendito was treated with pain medication and xrays revealing his fractured pelvis. It looks as though his he may need to under-go surgery to have his pelvis plated. It could be his only shot at a normal life.
This surgery will help this young guy live a typical cat life – pain free! Bendito is absolutely adorable, outgoing, and snuggly little kitten. He appreciates lots of pets and attention. Despite his pain, Bendito will steal your heart – rolling on his back, purring, asking for pets.
Then there is grey tabby Hobbs. This 10 month old kitten was found at the side of the road, left for dead. He was quickly taken into veterinary care where it was determined he had sustained a traumatic injury to his hind leg, very likely due to being hit by a car. Purring the entire time, such a sweet brave little kitty. He has no idea that he needs a rear limb amputation.
Please help these boys that suffered the same tragedy also see see the same bright future! Donate to their medical care today!
Personal updates for these kitties will be provided to anyone who donates to their campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, vaccinations, regular health check, and daily care for them until they're ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in their name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
