Subject of a cruelty investigation, Luna and her sister Quita were surrendered into BC SPCA care to get the help the so clearly need.
Luna, like her sister, has mammary tumors, which if left, will continue to grow and multiply. This painful condition could have been easily avoided by having Luna spayed before 6 months old (lowers the risk of mammary tumors to just 0.5%). Sadly, Luna's owners did not care enough to get her fixed and like 26% of unspayed females, she is now left with these terrible tumors.
We weren't actually sure if Luna was treatable at first. Initially her prognosis was undetermined until her x-rays were complete to determine whether the tumors had spread to her lungs. Thankfully the tumors have not spread and are not malignant. All that testing was expensive, but this girl deserves a shot at a better life.
Please be a part of her rescue and care by donating today.
Personal updates for Luna will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, vaccinations, regular health check, and daily care for Luna until she’s ready for adoption. If her medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
