Fizz not only has a way with people, he has a way with cats. For the first time, I think since I have worked at the branch our communal cat room has all cats out and about socializing with each other and this seems to be due to Fizz. We have nicknamed him Foster Dad/Therapy Cat for undersocialized kittens and cats.
We have several cats in care that were extremely timid and shy, now that Fizz has been around, they are socializing with people and enjoying attention from visitors.
Posted here is a photo of Fizz & Snacks. Snacks came in as a single scared kitten. He initially was hiding all the time, but has now found his confidence with Fizz, and spends his days being the big and little spoon right in the middle of the communal room. There is just something special about this big orange cat with the damaged ears.
Fizz has both a severe ear infection in both ears and multiple polyps in both ear canals. This has resulted in chronic painful ear problems. Medications may help temporarily, but he will need surgery for a potential bilateral total ear canal ablation and likely a bulla osteotomy, in order to permanently fix his problem. He is currently on oral prednisolone and topical ear meds temporarily to relieve his pain, but this won't be curative long term.
Fizz is a social butterfly, he loves people and other cats. He is one of the most relaxed cats and loves to snuggle.
Fizz's prognosis is poor without your help. Without surgery he would live in chronic pain that can not be managed by medications alone.
We know this is a lot to ask to save one kitty, in fact, it's the biggest ask we have ever done for one cat. His surgery is delicate andexpensive... and he is worth every penny. Please help him get the surgery he needs by donating now.
Personal updates for Fizz will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, vaccinations, regular health check, and daily care for Fizz until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
