Catrick is a beautiful and gentle long haired Tabby who was surrendered to the BC SPCA after other cats in his household were acting aggressively towards him. He was sadly spending most of his time scared and hiding. After arriving at the branch, it became clear that something else was seriously wrong – Catrick could not pee.
He was taken into the vet hospital where he required an emergency surgery to insert a catheter so his bladder would be able to empty. It’s hard to imagine the pain he must have felt and we are so glad he was helped in time. The surgery was thankfully a success, but Catrick is not completely out of the woods yet.
He will need ongoing care and careful monitoring in a foster home to make sure he continues to urinate normally. Catrick is also now on a special diet which should help his bladder work properly. According to East Kootenay branch manager Christy King, Catrick is a really lovely friendly cat. He is always so affectionate and snuggly even though he was obviously in a lot of pain. His foster mom is adoring having such an pleasant, easy going cat to care for. He takes his medications like a champ and is really just a wonderful, nice guy!
Catrick deserves a second chance in a new home where he can flourish and be himself! He just needs to get healthy enough for that to happen. Will you help him by donating to his care?
Personal updates for Catrick Swayze will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Catrick until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
