Young Sam came into care in agonizing pain! He accidently swallowed a foreign object that got lodged in his intestines. He required emergency surgery to remove the object from his little body before serious irreparable damage was done.
Sam had to be put under while the vet worked hard to remove the object, even having to remove portions of his intestines to get to it. The surgery was thankfully a success, but Sam still needs your support! He requires many weeks of healing with a new special diet to help him digest food properly.
It’s not uncommon for cats who are bored or stressed to develop Pica, which is a condition where they eat things that are not food. Poor Sam didn’t know better, so with lots of love and playtime, shelter staff are helping the little guy learn what is okay to eat and what is not.
At only 2 years old, this young boy has lots of life left to live and just needs the attention he’s been so desperately needing. He will curl up on or next to someone for loving and purr like crazy. He’s extremely social and wants nothing more than to tell you about his day! Will you help Sam heal so he can find his perfect furever family?
Personal updates for Sam will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Sam until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
