One year old Lilah came to us as a stray matted, underweight and very pregnant! After getting a well deserved clean up and health check, she was moved into a foster home while she waited to give birth to her babies.
After only a few days in her temporary home, she finally realized she was safe enough to deliver her kittens and started giving birth. After two hours of active labour, she unfortunately ran into complications and had to be urgently rushed into emergency care.
By the afternoon of the next day, she had given birth to three adorable kittens. Sadly she has delivered two kittens who did not make it, and she has yet to deliver one who has also passed away. The vet is inducing her, and if she is not able to birth the last kitten she will require surgery. Lilah’s vet believes she will be able to nurse her kittens, but this will remain to be seen. She will also need to be spayed once her labour has concluded.
Lilah is an affectionate and friendly young cat who has gone through so much in such a short period of time. She is a young, first-time mom, and has demonstrated such strength throughout this process. While she is now a mother, she really has the nature of a kitten, and just wants all of the love and attention, staff describe her as the "sweetest baby".
Will you donate to Lilah’s care and help this new mom heal from her ordeal?
Personal updates for Lilah will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Lilah until she’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
