Caesar arrived at the BC SPCA when he was seized after an Animal Cruelty Investigation. He was living in extremely dirty, unsanitary conditions and in clear need of medical help.
This big boy’s knee is actually out of place most of the time. It can be popped back in, but that only lasts for a few knee bends before it's popped back out again. This is causing him discomfort, so we want to help him before it gets worse!
Caesar will require an expensive TPLO surgery and an operation to keep his knee cap in place. Because of his size, he will have increased chance of issues during recovery. His recovery will have to be very slow, with two weeks of minimal movement and then a very slow increase in movement. The vet is suggesting professional rehab for the fastest and best possible recovery.
Petsecure heard about Caesar’s terrible ordeal and are generously offering to match donations up to $5,000 to help! That covers more than half his medical costs, with any donations above and beyond going towards the next animal that will inevitably walk, or limp, through our doors.
Caesar is a gentle giant! This hefty guy often forgets just how big he is and is entirely convinced he is a lap dog.
At just two years old, recovery is going to be very challenging for because it won't allow him to be the playful, energetic dog he is. But, after everything he has been through, we know that he can get through this and is destined to make a family feel whole once he is adopted.
Donate NOW to have Petsecure match your gift and help Caesar get through his surgeries. Caesar deserves a life better than the one he’s known, and is a great reminder for pet owners to consider pet insurance so they are prepared for anything!
Personal updates for Caesar will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Caesar until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
