Sweet and tiny Hawkeye was found wandering outside a community on northern Vancouver Island. You can see he has a severe injury to his eye! Thank goodness a kind passerby noticed the little kitten and brought him in to receive the urgent medical attention he clearly needed.
Hawkeye’s left eye was so badly injured that you couldn’t even see it – it had recessed into his eye socket completely. He needed daily saline flushes until he was able to go in for surgery to remove his eyelid and close up the socket. As if that wasn’t enough, Hawkeye has other health issues too. He has a low body condition score, a distended abdomen, and ear mites! He is currently on medication to help prevent infection, treatment for his ear mites and enjoying a delicious syringe fed meal so he can get his weight back up.
Hawkeye has won over every branch staff member, vet, and animal he has come in contact with. He even has a new one-eyed foster brother who went through a very similar situation of his own!
The staff member who is fostering him says he is the most resilient, sweetest kittens she has had the pleasure of fostering. He has a zest for life and loves all animals, big or small! His favorite thing to do is cuddle with his foster siblings whenever he possibly can.
Hawkeye is so deserving of a loving home, will you help him by donating to his care?
Personal updates for Hawkeye will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Hawkeye until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
