Sheenie and Salsa are senior cats who have had their oral health neglected for so long that they have grade 3 dental disease and painful resorptive lesions all over mouths!
Both require extensive cleanings with many extractions, geriatric blood panels with follow-up antibiotics and pain medication. Sheenie has very dry skin and a dull coat so she will need a diet change to high-quality food to get her coat looking beautiful and healthy. She does also have a touch of arthritis due to being 16 years old, but gets around totally fine. Ten-year-old Salsa is otherwise healthy, except for her oral issues!
Sheenie is a very friendly, affectionate and outgoing gal. Despite her age, she has tons of energy and loves to play. Branch staff describe her as having a bold personality and likes to greet everyone with a squeaky little meow. Salsa is a bit more on the shy side, but she is slowly coming out of her shell. She is a sweet quiet girl who enjoys a good head rub.
This is actually Salsa’s second time coming back to the BC SPCA, we are hopeful that her next home will be her true furever home. Both kitties are incredibly deserving of finding loving retirement homes where they are healthy, happy and loved!
Will you help Sheenie & Salsa get through their surgery and recovery by donating to their care?
Personal updates for Sheenie & Salsa will be provided to anyone who donates to their campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Sheenia & Salsa until they are ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in their name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
