Kim is a four-year-old purebred Persian sweetie who arrived at the shelter with her sister Kassandra. The two cats were clearly bonded, having relied on each other through what didn’t look like a very happy life so far. Both sisters were covered in clumps of matted fur and dead skin. Matting this bad can begin to pull on the skin so badly that it cuts off the circulation and can cause necrotic tissue and eventually death.
Kim also has a painful eye condition caused either by a virus or she potentially has “dry eye”, which is a severe drying and inflammation of the cornea. The vet has prescribed some medication so we can figure out exactly what it is.
She will be on a two week trial of meds to try and help reduce the inflammation, with medication to manage her pain. On top of her eye issues, she also has a painful broken canine tooth and needs oral surgery.
Kim & Kassandra are quite shy and are used to being in a one-owner household, so the shelter was a big scary adjustment for them. Both girls have just gone into foster while we line up surgery and treatments. We hope that they can come out of their shells being together in a quiet home and they will be sticking together when they finally find their furever home in about four weeks time.
These sweet sisters need your love! Will you help them by donating to their surgery and care?
Personal updates for Kim & Kassandra will be provided to anyone who donates to their campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Kim & Kassandra until they are ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in their name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
