One-year-old Cooper was hit by a car! The impact was so bad that his back leg was fractured and dislocated. This poor pup was in so much pain when he arrived. You can be sure our branch staff worked quickly to ease his pain with medication.
Cooper’s leg was so badly injured that he was unable to put any weight on it. In fact with every step he took, the leg would just hang from the socket. We’re sad to say that Cooper’s leg couldn’t be saved. After emergency vet care and x-rays, he was transferred to the Burnaby BC SPCA branch for an amputation of the injured leg.
This sweet boy also received some cuts and scrapes from the car impact, with one on his back leg being so bad it required sutures to close it up. Cooper was a bit underweight as well, but he’s loving being on a special diet to help get his weight back up.
Cooper is a sweet young dog who LOVES to get pets and snuggle close to anyone nearby. He also loves spending time with other dogs, cats and children! He’s going to make the most perfect companion when he’s healed from his surgery.
Cooper deserves to be able to live free of pain and get back to being an active playful young dog!
Will you help Cooper?
Personal updates for Cooper will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Cooper until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
