Mom loved all creatures but had a few very special relationships with some in particular. In her early adult life she had a Shepherd named Prince, who was a gentle giant to all he met. In later years while raising her family her precious Pug Mickey was her special little boy with a big personality. In this, the last few years of her life, she adopted a very unique cat from the BC SPCA and named her Libby. Mom and Libby spent countless hours together and as mom became less able to walk, Libby learned to enjoy daily rides on her walker and the quiet life of an aging parent. Libby survives mom and her loving care will continue through Lee ... or as Libby knows him "Uncle Lee". Helga took in all creatures over the course of her lifetime, from endless rabbits, guinea pigs to even a lizard that her son Donnie brought home that learned to say the word "momma". Her passion for family and animals will never be forgotten and she had made the very specific request that in lieu of flowers, everyone make a donation to the BC SPCA instead ... caring for those who can't do for themselves.
